Grace Hopper

Grace Hopper was one of the first computer programmers. She programmed the first computer, IBM Automatic Sequenced Controlled Calculator (Mark I). After programming it, she also helped to create Mark II and Mark III. Hopper also created the Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC). Hopper helped to develop A-0, the first computer langauge compiler, and Flo-Matic, the first computer langauge to use English to code. In addition to this, she also did heavy promotion for Common Business-Oriented Langauge (COBOL).
